Revolutionizing Ticketing: House Passes TICKET Act for Transparent Pricing

When we started CashorTrade in 2009 to protect fans and provide an alternative to ticket scalping we had no idea it would create The Face Value Movement. We have joined the steering committee of FixTheTix and are excited to support this amazing group of professionals who framed this legislation.

In a landmark move, the U.S. House of Representatives has just greenlit the Transparency in Charges for Key Events Ticketing (TICKET) Act, marking a monumental stride towards fairer ticketing practices for all music enthusiasts.

Crafted to enhance transparency in ticket pricing, the TICKET Act mandates sellers to disclose the total ticket cost, encompassing all associated fees, to potential buyers. Additionally, it demands sellers to clarify whether the tickets they offer are speculative, ensuring consumers are fully informed before making a purchase.

The TICKET Act stands as a beacon of consumer protection amidst a sea of discontent within the ticketing industry. Following in its wake are similar bills in the Senate, including the bipartisan Fans First Act, signaling a concerted effort to safeguard consumer rights and promote pricing transparency.

Artists, too, have rallied behind the cause, with influential figures like Billie Eilish and Green Day endorsing legislative efforts to combat predatory ticketing practices. Their collective voice underscores the urgency of implementing comprehensive ticketing reform.

With stakeholders across the spectrum, from advocacy groups to industry giants endorsing the TICKET Act, bipartisan consensus holds a new era of accountability and fairness in ticketing. Thanks for joining the Face Value Movement.
