CashorTrade Takes Madison Square Garden By Storm for 17 shows in 2017

January 2, 2018 - By Brando Rich

This year has been one for the record books for CashorTrade, Phish, and Madison Square Garden. Phish played a total of 17 shows at this world renowened venue, thirteen of them being consecutive shows they named the "Baker's Dozen". Phish grossed over $15 million at in the 13 days they played there. Phish fans every year were surprised when Phish had announced they were returning to the Garden less than 4 months later for a four night New Year's Eve run. The Baker's Dozen was legendary for the Phish's repitoire for music and for Madison Square Garden as they set the new record of most consecuative shows, passing Billy Joel's 12 shows.

Madison Square Garden and CashorTrade also had legendary numbers. For the 17 Phish shows that happened at Madison Square Garden CashorTrade proudly processed 32,863 tickets for the events. For the duration of the Baker's Dozen COT processed jsut over 20,000 tickets and nearly 13,000 for the four night New Year's run. This means that nearly 33,000 people got into those shows for face value. Madison Square Garden's maximum occupany is just under 30,000. CashorTrade is truly unique because there is a common goal between all of the members. The music! So many people want to see these shows and unfortunately they sell out quickly. Luckily for fans who both are finding ways to be able to go and who's plans do not turn out the way that they planned are able to get or get rid of tickets to these oh so special shows. With ticket technology to get massive amounts of tickets to post for resale, the Phish and CashorTrade community are able to fight back. True fans are not trying to make money off of their fellow fan. If something happens and someone can no longer attend a show, getting their money back and getting another fan into that precious sold out show is what is what is important.

Another unique aspect of CashorTrade is to no surpise the trading! For the Baker's Dozen alone there were over 9,000 tickets traded and for New Year's there were 14,438. So this means that there were almost 24,000 trades for the 4 night run. So nearly 40,000 people either got into the show that they wanted to see or trade to be there on the right night of the runs at face value. It is simply amazing to have that many fans as that take a stand against scalpers and taking care of one another. The more tickets in the hands of fans the better it is for everyone...except the scalpers.

CashorTrade is so unbelievably proud that we were able to fill nearly 10% of the shows at MSG with people who bought their tickets on a seconadry site for face value. This year really allowed CashorTrade to grow and none of it would be possible without the support of the community. COT is very lucky to have a community that is so supportive and that loves Phish so much. A huge thank you from the whole team and Happy New Year! We are so excited for waht 2018 will bring!
